On June 20th, China and Malaysia issued a joint statement on deepening and enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership and jointly building a community with a shared future between the governments of the People's Republic of China and Malaysia.

The statement mentioned that China agrees to extend the visa free policy for Malaysian citizens until the end of 2025. As a reciprocal arrangement, Malaysia will extend the visa free policy for Chinese citizens until the end of 2026.

Malaysian Minister of Housing and Local Government Ni Kemin stated on the 20th that, with the efforts of negotiations between Malaysia and China, the visa free visit of Malaysian citizens to China will be extended from the original 15 days to 30 days.
